Meredith Ferleger

Commissioner, Ward 2

Meredith Ferleger has had the honor and privilege of serving as the Upper Dublin Ward 2 Commissioner since January 2018 after her appointment to the Board of Commissioners. Following her initial appointment, Meredith was re-elected to office twice and is now running for her third term as Commissioner.
 
As Commissioner the last 7 years, she has worked tirelessly to engage with Ward 2 neighbors to ensure her decisions remain fair and balanced in the face of competing considerations and community interests. 
 
Meredith has lived in Upper Dublin for over thirty years and is a 2005 graduate of Upper Dublin High School. She is an attorney with a Philadelphia law firm practicing in the areas of real estate and land use. Meredith is married to Michael and has two boys, Maddox (9) and Ashton (4). 
 
Meredith hopes to serve Ward 2 Commissioner again because she is deeply invested in Upper Dublin, and remains committed to preserving our cherished community while enhancing the characteristics that make Upper Dublin truly exceptional.

Ira Tackel

Commissioner, Ward 4

Ira Tackel proudly serves as the Commissioner for Ward 4 in Upper Dublin Township, bringing years of proven leadership, practical experience, and a deep commitment to the community he calls home. Throughout his service, Ira has been a strong advocate for smart, controlled development, rebuilding efforts, and preserving the suburban character that makes Upper Dublin special. He remains a firm supporter of traditional zoning practices to manage growth responsibly and protect the quality of life for all residents.

Ira played a pivotal leadership role in the aftermath of the devastating EF-2 tornado that struck Upper Dublin, helping guide the community through recovery and ensuring the successful rebuilding of the Township Building. He also led the efforts to bring the vision of a modern, expanded library to life — a project that now stands as one of the Township’s greatest community assets.

A longtime local business owner, Ira brings real-world financial and operational experience to township governance, making sure that every decision is grounded in fiscal responsibility and community-first values. He is widely recognized for his accessibility, transparency, and common-sense approach to balancing tradition with thoughtful progress.
On a personal level, Ira has been married for 48 years and has two married children — both raised in Upper Dublin — and seven grandchildren. In his free time, Ira enjoys skiing with his grandchildren and has pursued scuba diving as a lifelong passion.

Ira is seeking re-election to continue the important work of strengthening and rebuilding Upper Dublin, protecting residential neighborhoods, maintaining vibrant public spaces, and ensuring that Ward 4 remains a great place for families to live and thrive.

Alyson Fritzges

Commissioner, Ward 6

Alyson moved to Upper Dublin in 2014 and was first appointed Commissioner in 2019 upon the passing of her well-known and respected predecessor, Ron Feldman. She was first elected in a special election in 2019 and reelected in 2020.

She is seeking reelection both to continue the many projects that are underway such as development of the Township building, implementation of the Open Space Plan, and completion of a new Comprehensive Plan, as well as to provide insight into a new zoning code, additions to Twining Valley Park and ensuring that the Maple Glen triangle continues to prosper with the right kind of development and store fronts.

Alyson views the opportunity to serve on the Board of Commissioners as a unique way to impact a community that has already provided so much to her and her young family. Alyson resides in Maple Glen with her husband Mike, their son Cameron and daughter Andi. She is counsel to a telecommunications company based in New York City.
